Summer 2014

Well its be awhile since I blogged.  So much has changed.  My Granddaughters moved to a new school.  It was bittersweet to see them leave Lyman Elementary but Skyland Elementary has been a wonderful change.  They did great this year!  They both started playing Little League softball and love it.  They are on different teams due to their ages but have made new friends.  It has been rough and ragged trying to keep up with six grandkids this summer and all their schedules!  But Lester and i would not have it any other way.  The life of a Grandparent is so rewarding.  Two softball schedules, two baseball schedules, two swim schedules, a lot of times we are going in different directions to represent our grandchildren but so be it!  
On a sad note, my dad has Parkinsons Disease and he has taken a turn for the worse this summer.  We have called Hospice in to give mom some relief and help.  They have been wonderful.  At one point we were having to life him to transport him to any other room in the house.  But the past two weeks he has gained some mobility back to his legs and is able to use his walker.  Just happy he is still with us.  more to come later!

Season is in full swing!!

Yankees are off to a good start! Any day beating the Sox is a good day!!  Our Grandson's team is off to a good start and he has played about 5 different positions so far!  He's gonna be good like his Grandpa and Daddy!  Our local Minor league team The Drive is also doing good and we love going to those games too.  We buy a semi-season package and go with our Peeps every year!  As you can tell we Love Baseball!

Great Week-end

Okay so my hubby and I got a chance to get away.  We took a short 4 day trip to Myrtle Beach to see our oldest son's High School team compete in Baseball At The Beach Tournament!  Imagine that! A baseball tournament! I love baseball and am excited that it is Spring and about to begin!  Bring on high school, college and yes My NY Yankees baseball season!

Grand-kids Praise

Two of our grand-daughters attend Lyman Elementary in Lyman, SC.  A wonderful rural school with a beautiful backdrop of the mountains and farms as its setting..  Our second grader came home with great news that she is being tested for the gifted and talented program.  And our K5 was Terrific Kid for the Month!  Now as their Grandma Rita I can honestly say they have always been terrific as well as gifted and talented but you will find that I am a wee bit prejudice!!

Manic Monday!

It has been a typical Manic Monday for me with a day full of teaching students and then on to my Class!  It is finally feeling like winter outside but I have been too busy today to be cold!!  Hope everyone is having a good day and on to Valentine's Day!

Another Minute!

If you are like me with the fast pace of life, anything can and does change in a minute.  I have two wonderful parents and great siblings!  We lost a precious sister 3 years ago to cancer so if I get on a rant about cancer please understand that it took a special person from our family.  Denise was a wonderful sister, friend and Christian.  I only hope that one day to mature in my Christianity to be remotely close to what she was in her relationship to the Lord and lived everyday professing it!.  More about my family later..........get ready!
